Welcome Back to the 2022/2023 School Year

Dear PSS Families,

Here is your official Welcome Back message! We are beginning another amazing school year on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territory of the Lil’Wat Nation. I had an excellent summer full of travelling through the St’at’imc Territory and over to the unceded, ancestral and traditional territory of the Syilx and Okanagan people.

I trust this message finds you well and that you also had an adventurous/ relaxing summer. I loved bumping into you and students around the community…at the grocery store, the new dirt jumps, Mosquito Lake…

The office staff are back in the office and working with teachers and support staff to be ready for students to return to school on September 6. Details below.

Sept 6
  • Buses will pick students up at their regular spots (timing will come from Transportation department soon!)
  • Students in grades 8-12 should come straight to the gym.
  • We will have the Homerooms (CLE classes) posted in the gym. Some students will have a new CLE class so they will need to check.
  • We will begin at 8:45 with a brief school-wide assembly to WELCOME everyone back.
  • Students will then go to their CLE class for the rest of the morning. Here we will hand out schedules and explain how to get their lockers.
  • Students will be dismissed from CLE at 10:20 to take buses home.

Attached
  • Day 1 Schedule
  • Week 1 Alternate Schedule: On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we will start each day with a brief CLE class to collect forms and do other administrative tasks. Then, for the rest of the day, students will have their regular classes.
  • 2022-2023 School Supply list. We will again be lending students Chrome Books. Students must have their technology agreement form signed by a parent before they can sign out a Chrome Book. We sign these out through the Library and students take them home and port them back and forth to school. It’s really important that students keep track of their chargers! We do not have any extras, which are surprisingly expensive (half the price of the Chrome Book!). Students in grades 9-12 should already have a Chrome Book or their own device. Incoming grade 8s, your teachers will get you organized to get your Chrome Book. 9-12s who returned their Chrome Book can take another one out once all their forms are in.
